Updated Aces PDM Wiring Walkthrough: Simplifying Your Setup

Updated Aces PDM Wiring Walkthrough: Simplifying Your Setup

Welcome back, Aces people! If you're gearing up for an EFI conversion or knee-deep in a swap, you know that wiring can sometimes be the biggest hurdle. Recently, we’ve updated the Aces Power Distribution Module (PDM) to make your installation cleaner, safer, and more reliable than ever.

With these changes comes a newly updated wiring process, and our latest YouTube tutorial walks you through exactly how to wire it up step-by-step. And if you want to see the wiring diagrams in full for yourself, you can check them out at our Manuals page!

Here is the ultimate rundown of the updated PDM wiring covered in the video, designed to get your build fired up without the headache!

Why the Aces EFI PDM?

Before we dive into the wires, let’s talk about why the PDM is a game-changer. Our PDM replaces old-school electro-mechanical relays with advanced IGBT transistor-based switching. This is crucial because it helps filter out harmful transient voltage—one of the biggest silent killers of EFI electronics. The PDM provides centralized, fuse-protected power distribution for your ECU, fuel pump, cooling fans, and relay-fed accessories.

Harness to PDM

In the updated video, we show you just how simple it is to integrate your EFI harness with the PDM. First, we tackle the connections coming directly from the EFI harness:

  • Ignition Switch 1 (Small Red Wire): Route this to its designated switched terminal on the module.
  • Main Power (Large Red Wire): Get your harness's main power wire and power ground situated securely into the PDM.
  • Main Relay Wire (Orange Wire): Connect the main relay wire.
  • Fuel Pump Trigger (Brown Wire): Hook up the fuel pump ground trigger wire.
  • Main Ground (Large Black Wire): Connect this to the opposite side of the PDM, to the connector labeled MGRND.

Battery

Connect your battery positive and negative wires to the clearly marked connectors on either end of the PDM. Ensure they are connected directly to the battery terminals.

Vehicle to PDM

Next, we integrate the vehicle's factory wiring directly into the PDM. As demonstrated in the video, this part is a breeze:

  • Fuel Pump Positive (Green Wire): Take the green wire from your factory vehicle harness and plug it right into the fuel pump positive terminal.
  • Secondary Ground (Black and White Wire): Route this black and white wire straight to the ground terminal. (As you'll see in the video, you can never have too many solid grounds!)
  • Ignition Source (Pink Wire): This pink wire from the vehicle is your ignition key source. Connect this to the IGNKEY terminal. Pro-Tip: Make sure this is a true ignition-on source that remains active during engine cranking, not just an accessory circuit that drops out while starting!
  • Fan Triggers: Finally, hook up your cooling fan trigger wires, and you are good to go.

Plug, Play, and Perform

And just like that, all your connections are made! Simple as that. No more messy relay banks, confusing inline fuses, or guessing games. The updated PDM gives you a structured, easy-to-follow path to power your Aces EFI system properly.

Make sure to watch the full video guide before you start snipping and stripping wires to ensure your PDM is completely ready to work with your EFI system.

Tune in, wire it up right, and we'll see you out on the road!
