Upgrading to Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) transforms throttle response, cold starts, and overall engine efficiency. However, even the most advanced ECU can only perform as well as the fuel delivery system behind it. EFI systems demand consistent high pressure (43+ PSI), which stock mechanical or low-pressure pumps simply cannot deliver.
Whether building a 300 HP cruiser or pushing high horsepower on a street-strip machine, selecting the right fuel delivery setup ensures reliable, bubble-free fuel flow under every driving condition.
The Aces EFI Fuel System Lineup
Aces EFI offers four primary fuel delivery setups designed for flexibility, noise reduction, and straightforward installation.
1. 255 LPH In-Line Fuel System
The ideal external solution for classic builds. This complete gravity-fed kit supports up to 650 horsepower and comes equipped with everything needed to plumb an EFI setup from scratch.
Included Components: 255 LPH external pump, 100-micron pre-filter, 10-micron final filter, adjustable fuel pressure regulator with liquid-filled gauge, hose assembly tools, and 40 feet of -6AN PTFE-lined hose.
Best For: Universal retrofits where drop-in tank access is limited.
2. Tight-Fit In-Tank Pump Module
In-tank pumps remain an industry favorite for quiet operation and pump longevity. Because the pump is submerged in liquid fuel, heat dissipates faster and pump noise is drastically dampened.
Best For: Muscle cars and trucks where maintaining low cabin noise and preventing fuel slosh/starvation during hard cornering are top priorities.
3. Tank Conversion Pump Module
Designed to convert stock fuel tanks into high-pressure EFI tanks without needing an expensive custom fuel tank. Available in 255 LPH and 340 LPH variants, these modules feature integrated or internal pressure regulation.
4. Command Center 2 Fuel Surge Tank
The ultimate solution for enthusiasts who want to avoid dropping or modifying their factory fuel tank. The Command Center 2 acts as an intermediate reservoir fed by your existing low-pressure mechanical or electric pump, housing its own high-pressure EFI pump inside.
Fuel System Comparison
| System | Max HP Capacity | Mounting Location | Tank Modification Needed? | Noise Level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 255 In-Line System | Up to 650 HP | Frame Rail / External | No (requires return/feed lines) | Moderate |
| Tight-Fit In-Tank Module | Up to 650 HP | Inside Fuel Tank | Yes | Ultra-Quiet |
| Tank Conversion Module | Up to 800+ HP (340 LPH variant) | Inside Fuel Tank | Yes (drop-in retrofit) | Very Quiet |
| Command Center 2 Surge Tank | Up to 800 HP | Under Hood / Engine Bay | No | Quiet |
Why Aces Uses PTFE (Teflon) Fuel Lines
Modern pump gas contains ethanol, which breaks down standard rubber fuel hoses over time—leading to microscopic deterioration, fuel vapor odors in your garage, and line degradation. Aces fuel kits includes both -6 and -8AN PTFE (Teflon-lined) hoses.
- Zero Ethanol Permeation: Prevents fuel vapor smells and resists degradation from modern fuel additives.
- High-Pressure Rating: Braided construction easily withstands high EFI system pressures without swelling or cracking.
Critical Tips for EFI Fuel System Installation
- Dual Filtration is Essential: Always run a coarse pre-filter (100-micron) before the pump to protect internal gears from tank debris, followed by a fine post-filter (10-micron) before the injectors.
- Ensure Clean Power: Electric fuel pumps draw significant amperage under load. Always power the pump using dedicated 12V relays with minimum 12-gauge wiring directly from the battery or main distribution block.
- Keep In-Line Pumps Low: In-line pumps push fuel exceptionally well, but they do not pull fuel out of tanks easily. Mount external pumps lower than the bottom of the fuel tank to maintain a continuous gravity feed.
Getting your fuel delivery right from day one eliminates tuning headaches, protects your engine investment, and lets you enjoy the full potential of your Aces EFI system.
