This beautiful machine is Chuck's 1973 Mercedes 280C. It's the type of car that you see, and it immediately makes you want to get to know the personality it is an extension of. This 280C lives today, over 50 years later, after a trip to the woods of Alabama to buy a totally different vehicle ended unexpectedly.
After some love & modernization in the form of an electronic fuel injection system thanks to @acesfuelinjection, it maintains its original engine but now has a significantly higher reliability factor. The vacuum system that also plagues many Mercedes from this era was also removed, along with a myriad of other fixes and upgrades. That's only glossing the surface as far as the engine goes — I'm not smart enough with old Mercedes engines to tell you much more — but all of the work done to maintain the core of the original engine is really a testament to the dedication in reviving this car.
I love this car, and I love that it truly is an extension and a look within the personality of its owner. I could type on and on about the different parts of this car, the way it blends multiple subsets and influences of car culture, the incredible pop of color and life the interior gives the car when looking at it as a whole, so on and so forth.
But I'll let the photos do the talking. Thank you to @stankybenz and @divingboardlord for your time after Riverside, and I hope you all enjoy looking at these!
